That’s interesting. Anecdotally, it seems like there’s been a massive shift back. Trains seem packed again. I’m in a large office complex in Minato-ku and it seems at pre-Covid levels. I go to lunch either at 11:45 or 1pm to avoid the crowds, for example, just like in the before times.

Japan, please use this opportunity to reinvigorate the economies of small-town Japan. Not everybody should have to live near an office in order to work for said office. Remote work is healthy for the economy and well-being of the people in this country.

My work is back to the office and morning flexible start times are over as well. We do get 4 wfh days a month
