Takaya Shrine, also known as Torii or Gate in the Sky, is one of the most scenic shrines in Japan. At the top of the 404 meter mountain, there is a breathtaking view of the city.
As it is getting quite popular, I was wondering if there was any way up without having to hike from the bottom. I made it halfway past the Middle Palace but ran out of time and couldn’t reach the top by foot.
The incline was insanely steep and the path was muddy and uneven but nonetheless, is there a vehicle service like a shuttle bus that takes you up or at least past the midpoint? I can’t imagine it so but had to ask.
