Japan to offer permanent residency for 4th-generation descendants

1. Gotta ~~let~~ motivate the current generation of young Brazilians replace the older generation of Brazilian factory workers I guess?

2. Fun fact: the Japanese sailed westward to reach Brazil. They didn’t cross the pacific.

3. Or… Just bring back dual citizenship for normies.

4. Just give decent 3-5 yr visa to current immigrants! I have renewed my visa 6-7 times and always get 1 yr visa.

6. Haha, I am third generation, but am living in Japan under a normal working visa. Never realised I could have gotten permanent residency.

7. They should just offer it to anyone who passes N1 and pays taxes.

9. There’s something slightly unsettling about a legislature that reluctantly accepts immigration as long as there is some ‘Japanese blood’ present.
