Just moved to Tokyo a few weeks ago and I came across these Marlboro double fusion cigarettes at the store. Are they real? Have they been on the market for long? Where I’m from we don’t have cigarettes with flavours.
They are definitely real. I bought two packs about two or three months back but I haven’t seen them in store since. Their space is always empty and says sold out.
Flavored cigarettes are a ‘thing’ in many countries (coughs when she thinks back of her early 20s when she and her friend used to share a pack of Marlboro mint cigarettes on nights out). Japan is pretty strict about counterfeit stuff so there’s no way a konbini would sell those.
Flavored cigarettes have been a thing here for 20 years or so, they’re real and extremely common. My old boss used to exclusively smoke pineapple flavored cigarettes. Anecdotally I feel like they’ve gotten less popular but they used to be literally everywhere.
Real or not, who cares? Filthy disgusting illogical habit. We are all subjected to their stink on the daily. I hope you are not one of them.
Avoid! No one can tell if they are real or fake. The safest is to only consume things that exist back home. Same for food, all those restaurants here, I don’t think if they’re real as they don’t exist back home. So I eat Macdonald everyday, but even there, some burgers are fake I think because I’ve never seen them back home, safest to just stick with the Big Mac to avoid any issues.
they are official products and the purple ones are great. i’ve never had any of the others because when i want something like that, i go for Purple. my husband brought them back to the states for me before i moved to Japan with him and that was ~2 years ago. i *may* have had them ~4 years ago, when a coworker brought them back to the states and shared a few with me, but i dont remember exactly what they were. pretty sure it was these. i wont waste my breath and tell you to quit- that would make me a hypocrite..but its a good idea for both of us lol
