For each time Tetsuya drops a meta work shoot thinkpiece that any news outlet releases as an article it’s always good to remember that the only worthwhile response to his words are from the iconic Suzuki burial of him in 2018.

  1. Watching old subtitled promos makes you realise it’s not entirely accurate in terms of translations and it has grammatical errors here and there, but its enough for MiSu to hit the nail on the head on his antics. Especially after that “G1 has to many ppl now” article.

  2. 1. I miss Archer & Smith tag team. Too bad that was Archer’s peak; with crowd reactions he gets, genuinely surprised he wasnt built up to be upper midcard star at minimum.

    2. I like how in 2023, any promo insulting someone is a “burial”. I need more burial promos like when Cena “buried” Theory. It was based off reality so burials seem more authentic. This one seems fairly tame imo

  3. The funny thing is, Naito was only a disrespectful troll because he felt jilted by the NJPW management and fans; Suzuki really is/was a disrespectful troll because he truly doesn’t have respect for anyone (besides Gotch, Inoki, and Fujiwara).

  4. This was when Naito wasn’t at all interested in Intercontinental title. Absolutely no interest. None. He just suddenly begun antagonizing reigning IC champ Suzuki, who eventually ended up forcing Naito to fight him for that title. Funny that.

  5. Suzuki nailed this.

Naito’s workshoots are to work up marks who get obsessed over “tradition” and bullshit kayfabe concepts.

Fact is, Naitos thing about wrestlers having less matches in the G1, that’s only true for the failures in the main blocks. They work 7 matches which is 2 less than the traditional 20 man G1. And if you sucked enough in a 20 man G1, 2 extra matches wasn’t gonna help you.

The top 2 from each block will get more matches against each other, the real best of the best determined out a much bigger league. And the overall winner will have wrestled 10 matches, which is equal to the number of matches the 20 man G1 winner would have.
