Mobal internet poor service

Anyone else have a problem with Mobal internet? I recently got their WiFi box and the connection just stops at the times when I need the internet the most. I rely on it for my job but it’s just so unreliable and the support service takes so long to respond to emails so I go about 3+ days with no internet just waiting for their response (they have no phone number). Any reliable internet service that I can opt for?

  1. If you are resident why are you using a service for tourists? Get a proper connection with literally any other MVNO.

IIJMio, docomo ahamo, au povo, or if you feel like getting even worse service, rakuten mobile.

Are you using them for your home internet? If you can’t get any wired connection like fiber/adsl/whatever, then look into mobile offerings by docomo/softbank, docomo home 5G and so on.

edit: the 5-letter tourist mobile provider name starting with letter m is banned on the sub, so if you include it in your reply, your post will be moderated and not visible.

  2. Rakuten has worked flawlessly for me over the last 2 years, from Wakkanai to Hateruma (but mainly Fukuoka and Tokyo).

  3. Mobal is garbage and should only be used as a transitionary service until you can change over to a proper carrier. They upcharge for extremely slow English support and the service sucks. I used their pocket Wi-Fi for a couple of weeks when I arrived here before I truly understood what a waste of money it was. As a cell carrier, they are abysmal (in Kansai), and you can’t even port the number to my knoweldge.

I personally use a local internet company for my home internet and I changed to Ahamo for my mobile internet needs for when I’m out of the house. Much cheaper that way.

  4. It has bad service but what helps me is putting the modem in a standing position.
