Is there a limit to working hours for sidejobs that still fall under status of residence?

It’s my understanding that a “Permission to engage in designated activities” application is only required for jobs that fall outside the purview of your status of residence.

It’s also my understanding that unless otherwise stated explicitly in your employment contract, that this work does not require permission from your employer.

I’m just curious, for cases where the work clearly falls under your visa type, are there limits to the number of hours worked or money that can be made? (or any other restrictions)

  1. I asked this question at immigration recently and they said as long as it falls under the same visa category they don’t care about the number of hours.

  2. Isn’t the only hours-based restriction is student visa with 28 hours/week? Above that, as long as all your employers are OK with you working other stuff, it doesn’t matter?

  3. Well, there’s 24 hours in a day and you likely need to sleep for at least a few of them. Working more than 18 hours a day is likely difficult to sustain long term.
