Filing for a permit to engage in other activities outside of Visa

Hi guys,
I intend to request for a permit to engage in other activities outside of my work visa. I currently have a specialist in humanities visa and teach at an eikaiwa. do I need to get an actual job first or I can just file a request for the permit without a contract from a company?

  1. I did this exact same thing a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, you don’t need a contract but you do need the name of the company that you are looking to work for. Also, you need a letter from your current eikawa saying it’s ok for you to work for that other company. You will only be able to do 28 hours worth of work that falls outside of you current visa per week as well.

  2. We’ve done this a few times. Need some type of offer from the company you’re looking to work for to verify it is out of scope and low permit.
