Hello, does anyone know if the game can be playable in English (or French) on PS5 if bought as disc in Japan?
I’m asking because other games weren’t, like FF7 or Elden Ring, but the producers of FF16 mentioned they’re targeting a more international audience with this game.

Should be able to switch voice and text between English japanese Italian German and Spanish….
Its ridiculous that its 2023 and still have hard localized games in the market. I understand the case in certain, very specific cases, but on the majority of em it’s simply unjustified

Japanese version will have English.
The director just said on the live stream the other day that he recommends English with subtitles even for Japanese players, due to the lips of characters only being synced to English.
Japanese voices with English aubs is always the best

I dont know if this is the case anymore, but in the PS4 era, if your disc region didn’t match your PS store region (ex: JP version of a game with a NA PS store), you may not be able to use certain dlc content if it is released later down the line. So keep that in mind when choosing.
The devs even suggested Japanese audience to play with English dialogs. So yeah, you should be fine. I preordered mine as soon as I finished the demo.
I bought disc versions and f both FFVIIR and Crisis Core (on PS4) and I could play fully in English and/or mix it with Japanese dialogs and English menus.
I don’t remember if it was for Switch games or PS4 games but sometimes I had to switch the hardware language (OS language?) to English to play in with English language.
