App not available in your country

I have a docomo S20 5G. Docomo branded, not running a rom or anything. Using docomo service. Live in Japan. I’ve noticed a few apps tell me that the “app is not available in my country”. SUUMO and Peach are the top two that come to mind.

Anyone else experience this?

I’ve been able to manually install APK for Suumo.

  1. You have your store location set to another country. Either change it or make a new Japan store account. The latter is usually the better option in case there’s apps not available in Japan you want, you can switch between the two accounts.

  2. Play store region? Check your Google account.

Just a shot in the dark as I’ve been using an iPhone here.

  3. Apps are tied to your account country. So you would need to make a Japanese account, it makes no sense, why can’t I download an app that doesn’t work? If I want useless stuff on my phone I should be able to download it.

  4. Make another Google account for the country you’re missing (Japan, or prev country), register it to the phone under Settings > Accounts. Then, when you open the Play Store, if an app isn’t available, switch accounts and search again (top right corner).
