All places have lonely people, at least Japan has cool electronics and snacks to take the edge off.
The fundamental problem is that the LDP is trying to rule Japan like it’s still the Meiji period. Instead of addressing the cultural and social issues that cause people to give up on wanting to have a traditional family, the LDP thinks the government needs to just pay people to have babies.
It’s a program that has never worked so they’ve decided to pay people even more money to have babies. It just increases the tax burden on everyone without addressing the root causes of the problem.
I also think the living lonely and loveless in Japan thing is really more of a Tokyo thing than a Japan thing. Life outside of the metropolitan areas is very different.
