I’m in a dilema and can’t find clear answers. I have 11 years in Japan 7 of those being working years. I was advised at immigration that I could apply for PR this year.
I will get married this month to a Japanese, and I was wondering if I could stay with my working visa of 5 years until I apply for PR. Or if it’s a must to change to spouse visa after married.

Go for the 10 years route as you are eligible for it.
If you go for spouse visa you will have to wait several years under your spouse visa to apply.
There are no obligation to change from work visa to spouse visa right after wedding.
