1. If I use Fujikyoko Bus to depart from Tokyo Station, will the bus say “Yamanakako Asahigaoka” at the front because that’s the final destination of the line? What name am I looking for when I board the specific bus?
2. Does the bus number matter when I use the Yamanakako Asahigaoka line? Can I board on any whether it says 1, 3, 5, etc?
3. On Google Maps, when you enter Tokyo Station as the starting point and Kawaguchiko Station as the ending point, the directions say to “walk 300m” north to something “405”. Why does it need me to walk 300m away from the station? And what is the 405 referring to?
I’ve watched videos and read articles online but they only tell me what lines or bus companies to use and whether train vs bus is better– they don’t show which specific bus to look for so I could use the help. Thank you.

1. It’s a highway bus so the destination sign won’t be clear, and only a few bus go to Yamanako Ashigaoka. It will likely say Kawaguchiko, if there are any in English at all.
2. Yes, because it is all reserved seating.
3. Because that’s where the bus stops is for that specific bus. It either depart from the main JR Highway Bus Terminal Tokyo Sta. Yaesu-minami-guchi, or from Limousine Bus Tokyo Sta. Yaesu-kita-guchi Tekko Bldg. bus stop depend on time if the day. Can’t see anything showing 405 on my end so idk.

Thing is, there is two type of bus, city bus where you only hop on any bus and pay when you get on, and highway bus that usually require to purchase a ticket in advance. In this case, it’s a highway bus, so you will need to get to the specific bus station for the bus you are going to take, so you need to find that specific information, it’s usually provided on the website where you would buy the ticket. You will also need to buy the ticket in advance. If it was a city bus, you would still need to know the exact bus stop where to take the bus, and t hat might not be the exact point that Google consider to be “Tokyo Station”.

What might be the easiest to find from the info available is [Tokyo Sta. Yaesu North Exit Tekko Building](https://goo.gl/maps/Z7kGGA91izq5TMBJ9) so if you look, it’s on the other side of the street compared to Tokyo station.
To answer the questions
1. No, likely Kawaguchiko as it’s the final destination of most of the bus.
2. Yes it matter, and No you cannot board “any” bus. You need to board the bus for the ticket you bought, but you can buy the ticket for any of them. Also these numbers are likely not going to be displayed on the bus.
3. As previously said, Tekko Building will be the easiest point. It’s in the Tokyo station area, so that what it means to take the bus “at Tokyo station”.
I used a highway bus to and from kawaguchiko. The one back to Tokyo was 3 hours late to pick us up and I almost missed my flight home. That was cool. The staff on both buses were not very kind
