I just got Otegaru Hikari with ipv6 option and its little ONU, but some sites load and others don’t. I tried plugging it directly into my computer, as well as plugging it into my tp-link AX-4800 router and connecting through wi-fi with the same results. Sites like [Netflix.com](https://Netflix.com) work, but others like [reddit.com](https://reddit.com) don’t load (DNS error). My router’s internet led is orange.
Does this have to do with ipv4/ipv6?

You might want to check your MTU size and adjust it if necessary.
In your router you should set it to 1452 or something around there. I haven’t adjusted mine in a while so I don’t remember, but JP ISPs use a smaller size than the usual 1492.
I believe you’ll have to set up ipv4 over ipv6 on your router, there should be information for that in the documentation you got from otegaru (never heard of that). If it doesn’t include any information you’ll need to contact them and ask how to do the first setup.
OK, so you are most likely on IPoE option for connectivity and without starting up the ipv4 tunnel you only have ipv6 connections – so google services, netflix, facebook etc work but almost nothing else does.
First, otegaru uses v6プラス or クロスパス(DS-Lite) for the IPv4 services.
Next, you need to see if your TP-Link supports that: https://www.tp-link.com/jp/support/faq/2383/
According to the list, as long as you’re on firmware above the specified version, it will work: ファームウェア 210308以降 (A,B,C,D,E)
So you should check firmware, update if necessary, login to your otegaru user management page, figure out if you’re on v6plus or crosspath, then configure the IPoE settings of your AX4800 accordingly.
This might help with the settings (It’s for CrossPath but maybe that’s what you’re on): https://ex-pay.jp/support/xpass_tp-link/
I use otegaru with a TP link router. Log in to 192.168.0.1 and change your connection type to v6plus. You may need to update your router firmware to get this option if the current version is below 210308.
may I ask, did you avail the July 2022 campaign? if yes, which one did you choose the ‘500 yen discount every month’ or the ‘IPV6 compatible wireless router’?
