Summer is basically here and I’m looking for a good park/beach tent for our family of 3 (2 adults, one 4 year old).
Ideally it would be easy to carry (we either take the train or bike), easy to set up and take down, and provide some protection from the sun. We’ve done the “pop up” style tents before and had issues being able to put it away as I can never seem to get the fold correct, especially when trying to get a grumpy child together as well. Any suggestions?

For ease of set up/take down the pop ups are where it’s at. I’d practice at home until you get really good at it.
the only other ones I can think of are the pavilion style and they’re neither easy to set up/take down or convenient to carry without a car.
I’ve got a Coleman 4 person tent and it takes me about 6 minutes from start to finish to get it put up. I use it for camping and beach chilling when we go to the beach. Plus it’s got a waterproof rain cover. Not super expensive either.
You can get pop-up ones that use a built-in rope which makes putting it away very easy. I bought one after finally destroying my old tent when trying to figure out how to fold it back together again.

I have a Gazelle tent that I really love. Had to import it from the US though. It’s been the easiest tent to setup and put away for me. I also have a Fieldoor one-touch tarp tent with bug guard screens that I use as a lounge. Also easy to setup and use.
