Haneda domestic to international connection time

Anyone know if you must pass through security a second time at the international terminal if you are trying to make a connecting international flight? I only have 1hr 20 mins to get from Haneda terminal 1 to 3, domestic to intl. Anyone know if that’s possible, or am I SOL?

Thanks for the help everyone.

  1. You should be fine, 1:20 is plenty of time to get to the terminal, through security, and to your gate.

Hopefully your airline checks the baggage through to your destination and you don’t have to pick it up.

The terminals are physically separate, you’ll need to use shuttle bus or train to get to T3.

And re-do security for departure. For an international flight, I’d say that’s cutting it close. No guarantee security/immigration check will be quick, or that your domestic flight is on-time.

  3. Just double checking, but these flights are all booked on one ticket correct?

  4. I transferred from domestic to international at Haneda last month with about a 70 minute layover. You have to take a bus to the international terminal and go through security again. I made my flight but hot damn it was stressful! OP, you should be fine, but just make sure your luggage is transferred.

  5. Personally I always look at the departure airport rather than the arrival airport to determine these things. There’s things you can do at Haneda if need be (alert the staff who might be able to prioritize you, for example) but you have zero control if the flight is delayed from the first departure airport. If it was a small airport with few flights I would personally risk it, but for Kansai or Naha I wouldn’t chance it.

  6. Domestic to immigration should be good if your luggage gets transferred. The other way around I’d not be as sure because luggage never gets transferred for customs reasons.

  7. If you booked this as one ticket I would not really be worried honestly? They can rush you through, delay planes etc. There are generally things that are done.

Booked seperately, that sounds like it’s cutting it really close.
