  3. Basically every single guy he recruited to the War Dogs looks like a more credible leader and champion than he does.

  5. He just looks like such a dork, rather than some savage killer (the fact his matches can’t fit that style either, and his awful promos, are bigger issues, though)

  6. While I’m not in on him yet I think G1 is the perfect time to really prove himself, hopefully have a few great matches too which he’s more than capable of

  11. I Like everything about Finlay’s direction and where he’s taking bullet club except his look. The guy is one of the scrawniest members of his own faction and despite wrestling a “rougher” style it doesn’t help that he just looks like a goof.

  13. It’s fun being on the English side of new Japan fandom but I seriously do wonder how some Japanese fans view things vs us. I wonder how they’re reacting to him as bc leader

  14. People’s reactions to Finlay continue to confuse me.

    I feel like the one person who actually respects the guy sometimes.

    And people complaining about his body. I guess I just remember back when he was actually fat, so people calling him fat now just seem ridiculous to me.

  16. That vest is fucking ridiculous. Everything else I’ve mostly come around on ever since he debuted this new gimmick in NJC. But that vest is so bad.

  19. I think the hate towards Finlay gets really out of proportion, and I wasn’t hyped about Finlay as BC leader at first. Yeah his vest looks like shit but that’s about it. People talking about him being a clone of Jay or EVIL are either in bad faith or don’t watch the shows.

    He’s bringing something different to BC, he found his own style, he’s nothing like them in the ring. And he doesn’t look like them either, long dark hair and beard is not something that Jay or EVIL invented. It’s as dumb as saying Okada is a cosplay of Togi Makabe because he dyed his hair blond.

People saying he doesn’t have a good body either, A) don’t actually hate the body, but need an excuse to hate the guy (don’t pretend it’s not true), or B) don’t understand the character. His dad didn’t look like Batista or Lex Luger, because he didn’t need to, and he did just fine. Finlay is doing great as he is.

  24. I’ve been a fan since the Finlay, Jay and Juice days, but since he’s adopted this look, every time I see him I briefly wonder when the hell Matthew Justice started working for NJPW.

  27. David Finlay,Alexander Coughlin, Gabe Kidd, Drilla is my new favorite stable.

    Finlay definitely has a ways to go as far as entrance attire and excitement but I’m looking forward to the future of his version of the BC.

  36. I’m trying so hard to like Finlay, but with that DAMNED VEST, he looks like the least legit member of his own group
