  1. I’m also planning something similar. Do you intend on taking any of the local tour guides ? Like 1 day tours in hakone or Tokyo hop on /hopp off bus tour?

  2. I’m much older than you so keep that in mind when I say I think you have too much planned. You are going to exhaust yourself. You will be walking more than you think and it will be hot. The trains in Japan are very reliable but it will take longer than you think to get places. For example, on September 9, you plan to leave Hakone and go to Kyoto. From Hakoneyumoto, it will take 3 1/2 – 4 hours by train. It will also take time to get from the ryokan that you are staying at to the train station. You can check travel times and connections here: https://world.jorudan.co.jp/mln/en/?sub_lang=nosub

Give yourself some time to relax and take in the moment. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

/I would skip the Kyoto Botanical Gardens and go to Ryoan-ji Temple instead: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3909.html It is very close to Kinkakuji. Ryoanji is famous for its rock garden.

  3. I’d skip osaka Castle and spend more time at himeji.

Fushimi Inari is open at night. I went an hour before sunset, watching the city light up was a nice sight. Bring a flashlight if you walk to the top. There are lights but the stairs are very uneven.

Hakone ropeway may be closed due to bad weather or high winds. Check the website before going.
