Basically just wondering if there’s any like huge or just stores that have huge selections of electronic items new or old, broken etc. like videos game items, instruments. Components. Cameras. AV stuff. Computer things. Any sort of that thing in a large store of some kind almost like warehouse setting. Just buckets of things less of expensive restored and checked items. Junk… in Tokyo specifically since that is where I will be this week or anywhere in Japan for future reference. Like book-off but on a bigger scale

So like.. Hard Off? Since they are everywhere. Some bigger than others.
HARD OFF is the only place that comes to my mind right away.
I guess I’ve learned hard off is the only place that can legally do such an operation. Does anyone know why hard off has the rights to do such a thing?
I haven’t checked it out personally, but if you look for Hard Off Super Bazaar that might be something you’re interested in. I follow a guy in Twitter who always posts pictures of vintage synthesizers and drum machines he finds there.
Also, obviously Akiba.
That sort of stuff has hordes of mega-collectors in this country, so you need multiple recycle shops / hard-off / Akiba stores to scour through.
Also, don’t forget online: I use Yahoo Auctions a ton for this kinds of materials.
There’s a huge Book Off Bizarre right in front of Kawasaki station which is about a 30 min train ride from Shinjuku station. It’s 3-4 floors of used goods.
Akiba should be on your list.
The Hard-Off in Koza-Shibuya (〒242-0023 Kanagawa, Yamato, Shibuya, 5 Chome−39−5) has half a floor of junk like that. It’s out of the way, though, so you might have better luck wandering the smaller streets mostly north of Akihabara Station.
What about new old stock or outlet stores? I am not sure what I am trying to describe but years ago in ikebukuro bic had one floor dedicated to old junk they couldn’t sell. I picked up new but something like 12 year old Sony speakers which are excellent. New they were well over 1K but I got them for $250.
Since you’ll be in Tokyo, there’s an abundance of stores selling old hardware/ junk in Akihabara ( most of the stores are located in “Akihabara Junk Street” 秋葉原ジャンク通り). There’s even bins of junk laptops that sell for 1000+ yen. For video games, you can also check Hardoff and the bookoff chain there as well. So definitely make a stop there
