1. I wonder, did the sort-of-inverse of this happen too?

   i.e. if “racially unhygienic” people were being eliminated from the gene pool, were exceptional children given assistance above and beyond their mediocre peers?

   For example, if children in schools were observed for signs of racial impurity, then surely the same classes of children would also have been observed for signs of exceptional aptitude?

   I don’t know.

2. The guy on the left in the thumbnail is called Hosoda. “Shukan Bunshun” magazine exposed sexual harassment allegations against him over three consecutive issues. Allegedly, he would make late-night phone calls to female journalists, inviting them to his house. He also faced similar accusations from female employees at the LDP, claiming that he forcibly pressured them to sleep next to him. And guess what, he is the speaker of the house of representatives. FYI.
