**Questions:**

1. Is this too jam packed? Is there plenty of room? We don’t want to overplan so we can just see some things as we go, but we definitely don’t want to miss anything or waste too too much time if we will have a ton of free time. Hope that makes sense
2. Any advice for what to do with our “Free day” in Tokyo? We thought about a few things but wanted to do something more experiential inside the city or travel outside for a day.
3. Anything “can’t miss” in the areas we are at? Whether places to visit, food to eat, etc.?

  1. Most days have too much going on. You need to consider the opening times of each location, the transportation time involved, how much time you expect to spend actually visiting the place, and thus determine what is and is not achievable. For example, on Kyoto Day 3 the Okochi-Sanso Villa opens at 9am. I am not aware of any ryokan that will let you have breakfast *after* you finish at the villa. In fact you’d probably miss the check-out time and have to pay extra.

I am also confused by the constant hotel changes in Kyoto. You are there for four nights but sleeping in three places? This is wasting a huge amount of time checking in and out and transferring luggage. At minimum a I would sleep at the same place before and after the ryokan, in the vast majority of cases the hotel will let you store your bags there so you can go to the ryokan with a backpack.

Kyoto Day 4 makes no geographic sense as Fushimi Inari, Kurama, and Philosophers Path are in completely different parts of the city.
