IODATA

Has anybody had any experience with an IODATA product? Specifically their monitors. Are they comparable to mainstream brands like Dell and benq? They seem pretty affordable and feature packed. Any feedback would be most welcomed and appreciated.

  1. I have a 31.5in GigaCrysta QHD monitor. No problems and no complaints. Had it for about a year now.

  2. The company has been making various products in the field of PC peripheral devices in Japan for many years. They are not a “low price, but poor quality” company.

If you continue to use it in Japan (i.e., if there is no possibility of getting repair support from overseas in a few years), you need not worry.

  3. I had bought a cheap IOData 21 inch monitor when I first moved here, and kept it for a year until I upgraded to something bigger.

The monitor wasn’t bad at all, reaction time and colour was good, brightness as well… the stand couldn’t have felt cheaper, and it certainly wasn’t a masterpiece of design, but it did it’s job

  4. I have a 24 inch GigaCrysta QHD monitor, it’s fantastic and it was half the price of most other brands.

  5. I have no experience with their monitors, but their portable hard drives are top notch.

  6. No idea about their monitors, but I’ve used some of their little USB external hard drives without complaint.

Of course, the actual drive mechanism is probably Hitachi or someone else. But at least the plastic case looks ok, and has a nice bottom.

  7. Literally reading your post on one of their monitors (one of the 24in GigaCrysta 144hz models)

Got it a few months ago, and no complaints so far. The speakers could be a bit better, but they work fine if you are not trying to listen to high-res audio on them.
