Hello, I apologize in advance if this is not the correct place to post these types of questions. My questions are related to the visa form and application process.
So, I received my COE in the mail today and am going to be applying for visa. There are quite a few fields which are unclear as to what I would put (as a US citizen).
1. If I am going to a language school, do I put their information in the Guarantor and Inviter section? I also will be staying with a friend who lives there (but isn’t a citizen) so I would put their information because I will be staying there?
2. For the “ID number issued to you by your government” , I don’t see how this is different than the passport number. The place of issue and issuing authority are also unclear.
3. If we do not have flight info yet (as we don’t know how long the visa processing time will be), can we leave it blank?
4. Also I plan on shipping all of this via mail to the embassy office because I saw that was an option. Is this safe or recommended?
For anyone who is able to help with any of these questions, thanks so much in advance. I really appreciate it.

They are your guarantor and inviter, so yes.

Assuming you’re American, yes, you enter your passport number again.
Place of issue: USA. Issuing Authority: US Dept of State.
If you’re not American, but don’t have a national ID, still enter your passport. Place/Authority will vary.

No. Estimate.

It is not only recommended, it is *required* for student visas at a lot of embassies/consultates.
