Moving out transportation ?

Hello,

I’m moving out of my sharehouse to my own place on sunday. I won’t have much to move, only two suitcases (clothes) and 2 boxes (desktop+ monitors). No furniture whatsoever.

My question is, can I request a big taxi for that ? Like the vans ones. Or are they going to refuse ? It’s just for the trip to the new place.
Has anyone already moved with “small” amount of things to move ? How did you do it?

Thanks in advance y’all!

  1. Big (“wagon” in japanese) taxi should be fine, though they might try to refuse if everything doesn’t fit in the car. That being said, if you explain that it’s ok, you can come back and get the rest another time, and just load what you can it should be fine. I’ve also used Yamato before, and that worked too.

  2. I moved once using just an ordinary taxi. The driver even helped me load my stuff to the trunk and back seat. I don’t think they can refuse you, I mean people go to airports with suitcases and what not

  3. I moved across town so I bought a one-day subway pass and just made a couple round-trips. Definitely wasn’t efficient, but it was cheap and I got my steps in.
