Day 1 – 29th September (Australia – Tokyo)

Day 2 – 30th September

\*GiGo Akihabara 3 arcade (Tokyo, Chiyoda City, Sotokanda, 1-chōme−11−1) (\~45 minutes)
\*Akihabara shopping (we can explore between locations)
\*Akihabara Maid café (カフェ メイリッシュ) – Lunch (\~45 minutes)
\*Street Go Karting (1-2 hours) (yes, I know this is controversial)
\*Akiba shrine (\~10 minutes)
\*Senso-ji temple
\*Asakusa shrine
\*Tokyo skytree
\*Pokemon Centre café – Dinner

Day 3 – 1st October

\*Tokyo Tower
\*Shibuya Scramble
\*Shibuya Nonbei Yokocho (Drunkard’s Alley)
\*Takeshita Street
\*Harajuka
\*Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
\*Dinner and drinks at Memory Lane (Omoide Yokocho); tiny bars

Day 4 – 2nd October (Tokyo – Kawaguchiko – Osaka)
\*Check out of accommodation in Tokyo
\* Travel from Tokyo –> Kawaguchiko (unsure if this will be by train or if we’ll rent a car yet)
\*Lake Kawaguchiko
\*Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
\*Arakurayama Sengen Park
\*Oshino Hakkai Springs
\*Shinkansen to hotel; check-in at hotel in Osaka

Day 5 – 3rd October
\*Universal Studios + Super Nintendo World (early start); leave about 1 PM
\*Shinsekai (food markets and shops)
\*Shitenno-ji temple
\*Dotonbori (night out and street food)

Day 6 – 4th October
\*Osaka castle
\*Nara park (feeding deer)
\*Todai-ji temple
\*Todai-ji Shoro (Bell Tower)
\*Kofuku-ji temple

\*Shinkansen to Himeji Station à Bus to Himeji Castle (1 hour)
\*Bus to Himeji Station à Shinkansen to Kyoto (\~1.5 hours)
\*Check into accommodation in Kyoto \~2-3 PM

\*Check out of accommodation in Kyoto
\*Kinkaku-ji
\*Nishiki Market
\*Higashiyama District
\*Shinkansen to Tokyo
\*Check into accommodation in Enoshima (dump bags)

Day 9 – 7th October

\*Check out of accommodation in Enoshima (8 AM)
\*Explore Enoshima (Sea Candle?)
\*Travel (\~2 hours) to TeamLabs (90-120 minutes)
\*Arrive at Narita airport at 5:30 PM
\*Flight back home from Tokyo, Narita at 8:50 PM

  1. Curious what others say about day 4. It could be 2.5hrs to get to Kawaguchiko and another 1hr to get to Mt Fuji, and you’ll want to spend maybe an hour at each place, plus get lunch at some point. That’s already half a day, no? I’m trying to see how I can do a similar trip.

  2. i saw there’s an express bus from shinjuku or tokyo station to kawaguchiko. i am planning a similar trip.

    question: how are you planning to go to osaka from kawaguchiko?

  3. I know you already said it’s controversial but I will say please rethink doing the go karting. It’s annoyingly loud, dangerous, smelly, and they get in the way of actual traffic. Sooo many people here hate it.
