As the title says, I just received all the invoices for national health insurance and city tax. Is there any downside to it if I pay all of it upfront?
Same downside as paying anything upfront: you won’t have the money available to use it for other things
Also, if you die, they would get more money than you owe
For pension, there is a discount.
For health and city tax, I do not know.
I do not know of any downside, except if you were to do investment with your money.
If not, if you can afford it, I think paying upfront is good as there is no risk of forgetting.
No downside unless you can’t afford to pay them all at once.
You won’t have to think about the bills ever again. There’s no chance of a late payment (a problem if you are applying for PR).
You could die. Then you wasted that money
1. That money could be in your bank account, effectively earning negative interest. 1. The ward office may suspect that you’re a drug dealer. Nobody else has that much money just lying around.
Something no one has mentioned. Getting a refund because you overpaid, or switched to shakaihoken
