Low-key just love Tana’s veteran confidence, no matter the match result. Every younger star could learn volumes by just studying how he carries himself in promos and has absolute assurance that he’s going to win no matter what his chances actually are. If your character doesn’t come across as believing they are going over (no matter which way the booking result is going to be written), why should anyone else?
I’m not against this. Ace #1
Honestly if AEW would ever do something completely unpredictable, I wpuld love Tana taking the title, even if it’s a for a short period of time and someone else goes out and screws MJF. First of all, he’s great, so you don’t need to go the extra lenghts to justify him taking the title in any way. Second, would put AEW ina very interesting position and TK, commentary and the rest of the locker room could take a shit on MJF for letting an outsider take the title. Third we could get Tana with a new world title on the njpw shows. Then make MJF go to Japan fast,so TNT doesn’t get mad for not having the belt on tv, and make an appearance at a show to challenge Tana for the belt
I wanted so badly for them to put the world title on Tanahashi last year, but with G1 coming up right after it kinda defeated the purpose of an interim champion. Maybe late June is just a bad time to have this show
Then he puts it on the line at G1, dropping it to Toru Yano.
I feel Kamen Rider Kabuto vibes here.

He should have won it last year, hopefully this year.
(He won’t, but one can hope!)
