Got myself a headache and bought some. Took two this morning and 1 just now and very little relief. Anyone know the dosages? Can I up it again or should I wait? Im about 240lbs for reference.
You should put the package info through google translate. From what I’ve seen it depends on what type of bufferin you are consuming.
Should say how many mg of ibuprofen there are on the back. For the regular Bufferin though I usually take two and it gets rid of a medium headache kind of thing…
Per some googling: *To treat adults with pain or fever, the recommended dose is 325 mg to 650 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed . The maximum daily dose is 4,000 mg.*
It looks like 2 pills of standard Bufferin in Japan is 660mg.
I’ll also mention that Bufferin doesn’t work that well for me. Loxonin is the best OTC pain reliever I’ve found in Japan. I changed to it when the doc recommended it after I had kidney stone treatment.
1. Check online with your home country guidelines on recommended dosage in mg
2. Read your Japanese pills to see what mg they have
3. Take suitable amount of Japanese pills to match the dosage from 1.
Note: Many Japanese pills have much lower dosage per pill than is common in other countries. For example, ibuprofen is normally 200mg per pill in the UK but 75mg a pill in Japan. So if you want to take 400mg you’d take 2 UK pills or ~5 JP pills.
Japan prefers smaller pills as they’re easiest to swallow, allow more precise dosing, AND because Japanese pill makers lead the world in tech for making tiny pills
This is not medical advice, just what I would do: Go back to the drug store and get a box of Loxonin. It’s all I take now. Take 2. It will work. When it wears off, if still feeling shitty, then take 2 more. Don’t exceed 6 in a day.
Thanks everyone
I ended up taking 3 total today and feel fine as of now.
It’s those damn strong zeros before bed that got me 😂
I only take aspirin when I get a headache. One pill is usually enough to take care of it.
