I’m gonna start working as a dishwasher at a fancy kaiseki restaurant. I have student loans but I’d rather not touch that if possible. The place seems nice but I’m anxious about the environment being black, being bullied/yelled at etc. Should I just grit my teeth and get through it if it ends up being like that? I’m quiet and autistic so I’m an easy target for these things. Do you guys have any job recommendations if I decide to quit? I’m in Kyoto.

I’d venture to say you’re overthinking it. You’ve no idea what it will be like until you try, right?
Try it first, if you find the environment didn’t fit you then quit. It easy to quit earlier rather than stuck 2-3 months.
If you do pt job just for the money: english teaching, late night konbini, factory work pays good.
If you do pt job to socialize and to be good at japanese: being a waitress at any restaurant, or izakaya, café, supermarket. any pt job involve talking to a person is good tho.
wish you a good luck on your pt job!
Hotels keep looking for cleaning staff
I’d suggest looking for English Cram school jobs as you’d get better salary and conditions I imagine. There’s plenty of places that do one on one tutoring lessons that should be relatively chill if it’s middle or high school age students.
See how it goes. How you’re treated will more depend on your attitude, not you being black.
