Sumo wrestler embroidery and danjiri

Autumn festival in Sakaide, Shikoku. The danjiri has a traditional embroidery design. This embroidery seems to be quite old. Sumo wrestlers wrestle in the embroidery. Japanese people love sumo wrestling, so the old people probably decided on this design.
