Hi all, first trip to Japan. Among other locations, I had both Kyoto (4 days) and Kanazawa (1 day) on my list. If I visit Kyoto, is it worth going to Kanazawa? I was thinking about supplementing Kanazawa with one of the Onsen resorts.
I did both and I have no regrets about going to Kanazawa. The cherry blossoms were even more extraordinary there than Kyoto. They also have a beautiful castle and one of the 3 most “perfect” gardens in all of japan
We tried to do kanazawa in one night (arriving early afternoon) and it felt rushed. So I do regret it for that reason but I found it very different than Kyoto and definitely worth going to.
Either way, spend more than a day at onsen or Kanazawa
