  1. Why is the 1 in the 10,000 bill different from the 1 in the 1,000 bill? And no more 2,000 yen bill?

  2. What about all the old people who have millions of yen stashed away at home? How long will they have to exchange the old bank notes for new ones?

  3. The number font is atrocious. It looks too modern when everything else doesn’t.

  4. If they are interested I am available to have my portrait taken for a new 50,000 yen note.

  5. When notes get changed they always make them uglier 😔 same thing happened in my country…

    😢

  6. im not sure the people overseas know that two thousands yen bills are refused by some young salesperson due to the too little traffic of it lol

  7. I always thought it was kinda weird they picked Noguchi Hideyo for the current 1000 yen bill. Most of his scientific discoveries were proved wrong at some point, and he injected a bunch of child orphans with syphilis as part of a clinical study. He died in Africa after being invited there by a Scottish doctor (William Alexander Young) to study yellow fever, and lowkey indirectly killed Young cuz he didn’t keep his workplace clean and Young caught yellow fever…

  8. And it’s unlikely they’ll work anywhere until 2034…

They can’t even get the new 500 yen coin to work everywhere. 🤷
