I mean they are falling out of favor period
They are falling out of favor everywhere. I watch them far less often than I used as most of them are a waste of two hours.
People watch Hollywood movies here, if it’s a good movie. Top Gun: Maverick was packed for weeks and aired in Cinema’s for a very long period. Mediocre Marvel and DC movies though ? Only the Marvel and DC fans will actually pay 2000 yen to watch it such as Ant Man: Quantomania, Shazam, Black Adam etc.
It’s weird that the population around the world is getting older yet studios are making more kid movies than ever. How about making something adults want to see?
