MIL Leaving cooked food out overnight or even days and re cooking and eating it.

I get along great with mil and my wife and keep telling me I’m over reacting when I say that I think it’s bad to leave meat out overnight, even if you cook it again. I feel like I’m going crazy. MIL is a caterer. They reheat the same soups and curries every time they want some. Not just a bowl, the whole pot, let it cool down again and do that several times over however long it lasts. I’ve always kept soups/curries in the fridge and microwave a bowl over a few days, leaving food out, especially in summer seems crazy. Is that normal? Should I just chill? I think the mottainai is overriding food safety.

Edit- wow this got way more response than I expected. Interesting to see it’s not just our family. Sounds like it’s pretty normal in Japan to leave dishes pre cooked like that. The curry method is not entirely weird to me I can understand it. But for me looking at dishes that have been left out on the stove pre cooked, meat and fish is just unappetizing. Especially fish that’s just all cold and dried out or jellied up. MIL is such a sweet lady that shows her love through preparing way too much food. It means a lot of re heating, I’m happy but also on an never ending food catch up program.
