Itinerary Time! 9 day trip

A little background, I’ll be going to japan with my brother and mother (aged 25 and 62 respectively) in December-January and this is already our second time coming to japan!

We plan on adding a 2 day 1 night snowboarding trip in the middle (Day 5 and 6) of it since its always been something I’ve wanted to do- *plus they don’t mind since my mom is adventurous and they would just chill around.*

But anyways, here’s what we wanted to do for our trip, any advice? (of course any tips to also cut costs is also welcome) **and for any snowboarders/skiers out there, any recommendations for beginners like me skiing in Nagano? would love to hear from you!**

  1. I’m thinking about whether it’s worth it to go to Nagano or just take day trips to Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort which is much closer to Tokyo than Nagano *(but nagano is more quiet/ has less people though)* so im a bit conflicted on what to choose

  2. Why choose when you can have the best of both worlds? Snow in Nagano and peace in Tokyo! 🏔️🌸

  3. I cant commenr on skiing bits as I have not done it, but your itinerary looks reasonable to me. Day 8 is a tad packed but doable if you focus just on the highlights and not linger too long at store. Be sure to check out Shibuya Sky as you end the evening.

  4. I actually literally just got back from Nagano! Not a skiier, but I imagine it’s pretty nuts up there in the winter.

We went to Myoko Kogen to see a beautiful waterfall and they have a ski resort there! It was very easy to reach from Nagoya.
