Looking forward to going there and drooling over guitars I can’t afford.
Forever 1950s!
Saw some breathless reporting on this by the Japanese media today. The store staff was standing in front of floor to ceiling locked glass cases containing Fender guitars and comparing Fender to Louse Vuitton and Dior. Not sure how I feel about Fender being compared to overpriced luxury fashion brands.
Too bad their guitars are trash in 2023, barely evolved from the 60’s. Made to be as price competitive as possible from the ground up and now they ask an enormous amount of money for their higher end models. They lack the craftmanship of what smaller builders are able to put into it.
I don’t see what the attraction to Fender guitars is today. They made some innovative stuff back in the 1960s, which heavily influenced guitars forever after, but they haven’t done anything of note with guitars since then; it’s just because a fashion symbol.
However, I do like their modeling amps. They pack a ton of features into something that really doesn’t cost much or take up much space.
