I am wondering: Sadly, I have to keep my bedroom windows shut (yappy neighbour dog at 12:00 and 5:30). I am using my air conditioner at night, but the air in the room is awfully stuffy… how do you guys deal with this? Or is it my (old) aircon? Any good ideas? 🙃

I run both a air purifier(humidifier also for winter) and dehumidifier at all times. Your AC if not super old should also have a dry mode which cools and dries which should lessen stuffiness. Also cleaning your AC if you don’t would probably be a good idea. They have a special spray cleaner and if you wanna go full special stick/wipes for getting deep inside.
Clean your aircon with one of those spray cans. Makes a big difference.
If you have the money (10000 or so). Have it professionally cleaned.. ours was about 2 years old and they found all kinds of mold and crap in it …
Get a dehumidifier. Could also help with the creepy crawlies if you are scared of them like me.
The a/c doesn’t get you fresh air from the outside; it just recycles the same air inside the room over and over. So, you’ll need to open your windows from time to time. Add a fan that blows your sticky air to the outside may help to speed up the process.
Also vacuum or wash the aircon filter regularly (every two weeks if the a/c is not self-cleaning) and clean the machine or have it cleaned once or twice a year. You don’t want to breathe what’s inside that a/c after a while of running it.
I set my aircon to dehumidify mode when I go out to work and switch back to cold when I get home. Helps a lot for me.
