  1. I asked about good shows on Amazon prime a couple of days ago but now I’m facing an issue with connecting to the right account.

We have Amazon Prime on my wife’s account. When logging in on prime Video I don’t have Prime.

When looking at shows on the Amazon (Japan) app, it says it’s included in my subscription.

Has anyone faced a similar issue ? I’m assuming the country may be wrong, but all I find online is to use a VPN to get abroad programs. I want the local ones, hence a VPN should not be needed?

  2. Is it possible for auto-mod to insert + pin a comment every day that links to the previous day’s question thread?

  3. Am I understanding Hello Work correctly in that to apply to most jobs you need to go to a Hello Work center and basically have them apply on your behalf (issue a ハローワーク紹介状 to the company)?

  4. How do you do interviews while having a job? I only have a few days of PTO so I don’t really want to be using that for 1/2 or 1/3 of a job interview that isn’t even guaranteed. For now I only accept lunchtime + online, but I was wondering how people actually do it.

  5. My rent agreement for my apartment includes a service called ホームマィスター24. Best I can tell is this is just another way to fleece more money from renters. All it seems to offer is basic apartment maintenance guidance for idiots. Anything else that requires repair or professional help, they’ll connect you with their partners companies at likely above average prices. Am I wrong?

  6. So I actually quite like the car navigation system (Lexus navi if that matters). but I don’t think it tells me where the speed cameras are.

I also have the Navi app from Navitime

    But…. unfortunately no carplay.

What’s the best way to still get the speed camera information?

  7. Has anyone tried FineFast High protein pasta from ママー? Does it taste like pasta or does ut have some weird after taste? Im trying to find a japanese counterpart to the barilla protein+ since they wont ship it to our PO.

  8. For the life of me, my kitchen sink stinks with mold and I don’t know where it’s coming from. I’ve checked and clean under the sink but to no avail. I’m guessing it’s time to let the professionals handle it so…

Any good recommendations for a good and reliable mold cleaning company?

  9. Stupid question but what’s the best deal at dominos if you do takeout? And only want the pizza 🍕

the various coupons and new deals on certain days makes it a bit confusing.

  10. Got an HP laptop I got in Europe but the battery is broken, any tips on getting it fixed, preferably English speaking but could find help with the Japanese? I know Aki has many shops but I kinda dont wanna roam around aimlessly with my laptop asking around and dont know if they are ok with HP laptops. Thanks!

  11. What’s the best omiyage to bring from Kansai for parents and friends?🥹

  12. I’ve never tried surume before, but I’m curious to try it. Any big national brands that are particularly good? Any specific type I should try?

  13. I have seen claims that the JLPT N3 is intermediate level Japanese, but then others deride this claim. I was just thinking about it and if I were to compare with my students on the English scale, I would say it is more like Pre-Intermediate.

    What do you think?

  14. Hello. It’s my first time trying to quit a job and I really don’t know what to pass is it the 退職願 or 退職届 ( in my head the “negai” is asking for permission while the “todoke” is im really quitting and i want to pass the todoke) and do I write it by hand? or is it okay to be computerized?

  15. Thank you group admins for your hard overtime work.

    What does this mean though?

    > Except you ARE wrong, you’re basing your argument off of Google Translate’s incorrect translation.

There was no tx in OP or my comment… so maybe a misclick?

  16. DIY cleaning of aircon units. I’m not scrimping for cash such that I can’t afford to bring in a cleaning service, but I like learning how to do shit myself – These sort of maintenance things are good skills to have IMO.

So anyone got suggestions/recommendations on how to do regular cleaning maintenance of an aircon unit? Dusting off filters is basic stuff, so I’m talking about sprays and things to clean and protect the internal fins/heat exchangers.

I’ve seen covers with a drain that cover the whole unit, and then presumably you blast with some heavy duty cleaners – but that feels like the nuclear option used when the unit is too disgusting.

My unit is clean for the moment, so would I be better off just buying the more consumer-focused spray cleaners instead?

  17. I wonder if anyone has any experience becoming a freelance/sole proprietor as a designer here.

Where did you find a company that sponsored your visa?

  18. just out of curiosity, are there any off-brands or bargain stores that have clothing that’s similar to japanese underground high fashion? for reference, the kind of funky styles sold at royal flash. i know it’s unlikely, but i’d love to have some clothes like that without spending an entire month’s salary on one outfit…

  19. New place has two AC units. I cannot seem to locate the plug for the one in the kitchen. A cursory inspection makes me think it’s connected outside on the balcony somewhere.

What are my chances that if it is an outside plug it’s connected to the common area power and not my apartment’s? 😂

  20. After spending 8 summers in Japan and it seems it gets even hotter than usuals, finally I have the courage to ask:

Jlifers who wear long sleeve on summer, why? Also for people who don’t wear long sleeve but knows the answer, I’d appreciate to get some answers.

The reason I’m asking this is that I live in Tokyo. It’s not even 30C yet so many people complaining about how hot it is in Tokyo. And simultaneously the same population that complain about that (or at least visibly feeling hot by sweating/having electric fan), they are wearing long sleeves! I mean isn’t it counterintuitive (or maybe even counterproductive) to wear more when it’s hot? Shouldn’t you regulate your body temp to not feel hot or get heat stroke? Probably by getting more air circulation?

I understand about people who potentially have sensitive skin, but that can be tackled with wearing parasols or applying more frequent/stronger sunscreen.

Please be kind. I’m genuinely curious. Hence here are my stupid questions..

  21. Is 整体院 equivalent to hacky quacky chiropractor or are they more legit?
