  1. The scary thing is this schedule was very much the norm for most of the teachers at the JHS I worked at. Basically at school 12-14 hours a day and often working both days of the weekends

  2. I’m guessing that this will assist most companies realise what they did incorrectly.

    In my opinion, it should be over $1 million, as only a large figure will instill terror in a firm that has long abused its workers.

  3. I had to make sure this wasn’t a school I used to work at. 40-ish guy died out of the blue over a weekend of a sudden brain hemorrhage. Do I know for a fact that it was because of overwork? No, but it doesn’t seem out of the question. A different coworker at the same school told me about how she had to accompany her designated club to tournaments over the weekend in the neighbouring prefecture. Not only was she not paid or given time off in lieu, but she wasn’t even compensated for gas. This entire country needs a work-life balance reckoning.
