When I was visiting Japan, I left behind my headphones in a hotel. The hotel found them but will only ship them within Japan, so having them sent back to me isn’t an option. I have a friend visiting Japan soon and was hoping to have the item sent to his hotel so he can pick it up, but unfortunately my hotel will only send it cash on delivery, and his hotel won’t accept items shipped cash on delivery. I tried asking my hotel if it could be charged to my card on file, or his hotel if they could charge the fee to his bill, but they wouldn’t.
Has anyone done something like this before? Any ideas on another way to get it delivered, pay for the fee myself, or any other way to get it to him?
If there’s no other way, I’ll ask him to go in person but since he’s on vacation and has limited time there I’d rather find a way to pay to have it delivered than make him go out of his way.

Pre-pay a shipping label and email it to them?
Ask the hotel that has them if they will accept a prepaid shipping label
Following because same thing happened to me and the hotel won’t ship unless it’s local and cash on delivery. I got a suggestion to try using Tenso Japan which is basically like sending your stuff to a PO Box in Japan then that being forwarded to your residence. The hotel suggested FedEx or DHL. Not sure what would be easier and/or cheaper.
I left something behind in a hotel in Japan, and I can’t remember how I paid for it to be forwarded on, but in my case I was still in Japan, I just hadn’t wanted to go back to Nagano. I did get my items. (I’d forgotten about some candy on top of my daughter’s Lush purchase.)
