HomeNew Japan Pro WrestlingCreated an in-depth, almost 13k word prediction of the upcoming 2023 G1 Climax. Complete with analysis (however brief) of every single match.
The site’s readability is created to mimic the night reader mode on some popular text-based sites. Let me know if it looks any good or not, I really do go back and forth.
Really enjoyed that.
I’m struggling re Kaito – I agree he needs to progress through the block and beat Okada, but also I’m not sure he belongs in the final as we know that there is 0% chance he wins the G1.
I think we are in for some nasty wrenches in the plans. Bullet Club always do amazing in their first G1. We have alot of new bullet club this year…
I’m not entirely convinced that the Reiwa 3 are getting big victories, I think its possible they all get faced with a hard setback through poor points totals, and extrapolate their characters from how they handle that setback. Maybe one of them makes it out of the block stage before getting canned in the semi’s.
I do think Hikuleo might be the block gatekeeper, possibly the alternate for A-Block should someone take an injury.
The one thing I am convinced of is that a Okada/Kaito on JP commentary causes one of them to lose their block, the other getting knocked outta contention in return and similar fashion the night after. Setting up a special singles match at the finals. Avoids the “Okada Slump” by giving him something directly to do and some reason to do it. Especially if they play his ego.
