I have an opportunity to work on a contract in Tokyo for 6-8 months, so I’m looking to rent an apartment short to midterm with basic amenities.
I’ve had a little look around but I’m sure some people on here are more experienced in the matter, so I’d appreciate any advice/insight/links.
Also, is there any conflict regarding the registered address on my visa? I own a house here in Kyushu, which is where my family are based. I’d be returning home every/other week so it would just be somewhere to sleep during the week days.

You don’t need to change anything for a short term move as long as you’re maintaining your home residence. I did this for over a year commuting back and forth, it’s normal.
Look up “Weekly Mansions” around Tokyo.
Back when I had to travel for weeks to months at a time, I would stay in one of these. They have all the air cons and stuff you need to at least survive. You’d just need to bring your own/buy your own towel and toiletries and other stuffs.
I don’t have any suggestions for one here in Tokyo specifically as all my trips were to Osaka/Kyoto/Hiroshima/etc. but I can at least say that they exist. 🙂
