>
> Official figures show that compared to a year earlier wages rose by 1.8% in May, the fastest pace in 28 years.
>
> This year, companies including, Fast Retailing, which owns fashion chain Uniqlo and motor industry giants Toyota and Honda said they would increase their employees’ pay.
>
> Earlier this week, Japan’s largest trade union Rengo said firms had agreed at annual labour talks to the largest pay increases in three decades.
>
> The pay rises represent a “symbolic structural change in the Japanese economy,” research analysts from Japanese investment bank Nomura said.
>
> “Japan’s potential labour pool shifted to a rapid decline around the end of 2021,” they added. “This should put sustained upward pressure on wages.”
I hate this article headline because it omits that rise getting eaten by fucking everything else in life. Ain’t nobody getting a payrise with how shitty the world is. We ought to get a new system but the rich are too entrenched and happy with the current one.
I got like 60.000 pay rise . Then my health insurance and other also went up. Finally is kinda same as before 😂.
It’s nothing to write home about. Inflation has risen faster and higher than raises. And the CPI doesn’t measure everything. I have already started changing buying habits.
If pay went up by 1.8%, and prices went up by 3.2%, that means that pay effectively went down…
Wow 1.8%, that’s sure to help.
My healthcare insurance fees went up more than than my meagre pay rise.
Yeah maybe only a few companies but most companies havent increased shit. Im waiting for the time we finally get something good for all our hard work. Every fucking thing gets smaller and more expensive. Im Sick and tired of getting fucked over.
