I feel like I browse every time it comes around and there’s never anything that feels worth it.
Got a fire hd kid for my son as we gonna take a long plane and it may help. Is now with 30-40% discount
Probably a samsung pro 980 2tb, unless it’s even cheaper on amazon.com sales.
Diapers and other baby stuff, since those don’t go bad and I don’t mind storing 4month of supplies
I got no clue honestly
About 4-5 years ago I got a Kindle that was a great deal. I think it was around half price or close. I thought I might upgrade this year, but it looks like they’re only going to be like 20% off (and the base price is quite a bit more expensive than back then). Oh well.
I regularly use Amazon and yet the Prime Day deals always seem irrelevant to my needs or interests.
Nothing. We usually buy from Yodobashi Camera if we need electronic stuff, but we don’t need anything now.
Hoping to score a cheap LG 65インチ tv. 4 years ago, I got a 55インチ C9 for 10万 😅
Usually Amazon devices like the Echo or Kindle range are heavily discounted so it can be worth buying at that time. Most other products get marked up a week before Prime Day by sellers then reduced for the sale so it shows 50% off but it’s really the same price as before.
I’ve never seen a product on my wishlist getting actual discounts during prime day, they normally raise the price before and give a “discount” during prime day lol. There was a headphone I wanted that costs $50 MSRP, it was always priced at around 6-7k until last week. Now you can’t find it for less than 1万円 on Amazon.
Thrustmaster T-GT racing wheel hopefully
a vacuum cleaner!
Hoppin Garage beers at 181jpy a can. Diapers wipes and trash bags. A years worth of razer blades. Maybe an SSD. Another USB hub.
There is an app which shows if you’re actually getting a lower price or not, then again I’d say less worry about lowest vs what you think is good enough to buy in bulk
I have a kindle from Amazon Japan and use a different Amazon account to get my books. It works out well. I know that Amazon is not the company it was…but it’s hard not to look at the kindle fondly. Made it so easy to read anything I want.
Protein creatine and whatever other supplements I can find
Don’t expect too much of bargains.
I ordered a certain wifi device which had very inflated prices (amazon JP compared to amazon US and EU) since a couple of weeks before, just to sell it with ¥7000 off coupons (one-item only per customer) before Prime Deals started and since yesterday, coupon disappeared and prices changed to 37-40%:
* ¥24,900 (June) * ¥17,900 (¥24,900 – ¥7000, one item only; week before Prim Deals) * ¥14,900 (–40%; order limit 3 items for this price) * For comparison: On Amazon US or EU, this very same item was and is always at $89.90 = ¥13,000 or €104 = ¥16,000 (due to different VAT).
So the blown up prices got discounted in two steps, Prime Day is an additional ¥3000 off. But on par with Christmas or Black Friday sales discounts.
Amazon often has low prices for electronics and computers only and many, many other things are cheaper during Rakuten super sales (which happen several times each month).
Alternatives?
When you’re in the Rakuten ecosystem with Rakuten Bank+cc, Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Hikari and order it at their frequent super sales, you get two-figure multiples of the points (SPU) which makes non-electronics but even larger appliances (such as dehumidifiers/air purifiers, fridges etc) much cheaper than Amazon. Points can directly be used to reduce cc bills or pay at restaurants, so effectively 1 point = ¥1.
And you’re supporting a full domestically operated enterprise+tax payer vs. Amazon paying minimum wages only with taxes going to tax paradises.
I want a tv, but probably won’t buy it, always so over priced in Japan
Bought a (hopefully) nice standing desk for WFH. Spent way too long trying to pick but now I’m excited to get accessories and gear to make the desk look good.
50 Inch 4K TV for me – right now there seem to be a few models (TCL, LG, Hisense) for around 5万, they’re of course low end models and I’m not expecting much, but Amazon offers the 5 year warranty for less than 3000 yennies so I’m willing to gamble. Leaning towards LG purely for brand name but keeping an eye on the others.
Maybe an SD card for my Steam Deck. Other than that it’s usually a crap-shoot.
I want a 27” LG UltraGear monitor.
There are so many English books I want to buy, and no way to filter for them specifically ._.
Thinking about getting into sim racing, so a Logicool G923 with a stand.
