I’ve been trying to decide what my best option would be for moving to Japan. I have some time, as I am still in school and graduate with my associates degree next spring (My major is Computer Science, with a concentration in Programming) , and I have been considering a few options.
Option 1 – Applying for MEXT and completing a full undergraduate program in Japan, and looking for employment after school.
Option 2 – Completing a bachelors degree program in the states, and attending the Boston / Los Angeles Career Forum
Option 3 – Completing a bachelors degree program in the states, and applying for an ALT job through a program such as JET.
Assuming that I don’t get accepted for the MEXT scholarship, option 2 and 3 would be the only other options I know of at the moment. I would like to hear opinions and if anyone has any other suggestions for moving there. I am open to hearing other ideas as well!
Edit – I’ve been studying Japanese since I was about 9 years old, and I am currently taking language courses every week since I lost a lot of what I had learned over the years, in case that was important to include
