Can’t deal with the dust

Since the startup of Summer the dust has started to really get to me. I never experienced this back home and it’s gotten so much worse recently, so bad that I start to cough to the point of throwing up. My work environment may absolutely be to blame for this as everything here is dusty and old and I’m constantly dealing with dusty items being brought into the shop. Anyone have any recommendations to alleviate the dust?

  1. Mask and medicine. My wife has different allergies but she makes sure to get the prescription medicine from a doctor during her peak allergy season. And then she’ll wear a mask on top to try and make another barrier.

  2. The obvious **Use a** **Particle filtering mask**, sounds like a good idea to start with.

Next step could be using a Air Cleaner/ Opening Windows to get a cross wind.

  3. Masks, they were a thing before COVID for a reason, they will continue to be a thing in the new normal. An N95 will do a surprising amount of good for dust/allergies.

  4. Look into a portable/small air purifier as well, that you can put near your desk. Ikea sells a good one for 4900 yen.

  5. Maybe get checked for allergies. I’m allergic to dust mites and since I found out been on meds which have blocked the allergy.
