Finding a job as a student studying abroad

I am going into my final year of college and will likely be spending my final semester studying abroad in Tokyo at Sophia University next spring/summer. I should only have to take 3 courses and hopefully will have a lot of free time to explore. I was wondering the feasibility of finding a job during my time abroad that could lead to permanently moving to Japan, particularly in the mechanical engineering field.

Are their often career fairs or conferences that I could attend?

I have heard from a professor who spent time in Japan that companies often recruit directly from clubs at universities. Would this be a feasible option to explore with only one semester?

I currently plan on self studying Japanese until I go abroad and am planning on taking a course during the semester abroad.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
