Hello everyone, hope you’re having a pleasant day/evening depending on your timezone.
I’m currently working on the Personal Records portion of my COE application for my language school. One question I’m a little stymied on and can’t seem to find reliable answers for via the web is how freelance work history factors into personal work history.
I’ve been freelancing as a copywriter for the last few years, especially since COVID made it nigh impossible to land a lasting job at an ad agency (lost count after 500-600 different job apps). That being said, I’ve had steady freelance work and dry periods alike, but I’m unsure how to represent myself on the work history portion of the form. Do I list myself as my own entity (i.e. MY NAME Copywriting) and put down my years as long as I have been freelancing, or should I list the companies instead with the periods I was contracted to them, even if I was only working for them on a freelance basis?
Thank you very much for the information/answers!

**Language School COE Personal Records question – freelancing?**

You were not an employee of those companies. If someone calls their HR department to ask about you the answer will be “Who?”
If you’re self-employed you list yourself as self-employed. This is freelancer resume/CV 101.
