Needing wider fitting shoes. Brand/store suggesting please!

Hey everyone! I’m struggling to find Japanese shoes that fit. I’m only 26.5cm, but Japanese shoes are so tight and thin that they squish my feet and cause discomfort. I love puma and under armor, but compared to my usual Canadian counterparts, they’re also much thinner here.
Any advice on shoes to get, or if there’s any naming scheme that would imply a wider fit?
Thanks a ton!

  1. Look on Amazon for 4E sizes. Normal western sizes are usually 2E but stores still carry a lot of them.

  2. In both US and JP, New Balance is a brand that offers their shoes in a few different width varieties.

  3. New Balance, Asics, and Mizuno offer shoes in 4E.

Amazon will be the easiest place to shop as you can quickly narrow things down by choosing your show size and your desired width.

  4. New Balance 4E sizes have been good for my feet. I walk a lot and buy two pairs of New Balance 880s every 1.5 years (because I quickly wear them out walking around 100km per week).

  5. Probably not what you want but Air Force 1s are very wide no matter what country you’re in

  6. I found that Merrell shoes fit me quite well. Still depends on the person but I think Amazon offers “try before you buy” on some of them. Also ABC Mart usually has them.

  7. Most shoe shops actually stock wide sizes as well. (4E).

I found Skechers to be decent for having wide sizes available.

Montbell has wide hiking boots if you need those.

  8. Amazon and set the filter to the desired width. I’m a 3E but there are much bigger available.

I know my foot fits well with Asics so I tend to stick with them.

  9. New Balance has shoes that go up to 4E. Hoka and I think Nike have up to 2E. Although most designs you can only get online.
