Help! Washing machine : there’s lint on everything.

So, my partner has been living in his mansion for a few months, and when I moved in: I realized he NEVER cleaned the lint trap.

So I began to with each load, however: there has always been an excessive ammount of lint on all the clothing when I take them out.

Is there a cleaning cycle/ product i can use/ trick to this?

  1. Have you tried cleaning it a few times with the stuff made for washing machines?
And as a preventative measure until you can get things resolved, try turning your clothing inside out and use laundry bags/nets for the clothes. 100 yen shops have various sizes.

  2. Honestly I feel like towels here shed a lot of fibre. I never had the lint trap fill up in my home country for the washing machine in 2 years – here it was 3 months. I’ve only ever had to clean lint filters in the clothes dryer regularly.

Even when I dry my body or face I’m covered in fibre from the amazon or NITORI towels. Towels is actually on my list to purchase when I go for a trip home !

  3. I have the exact same issue. Never in my home country. I didn’t even know lint in washing machines was a thing. Sometimes I fill the drum up with water and scoop as much as I can out. That and cleaning it regularly seems to help.
